Making Cold Process Soap

Making Cold Process Soap

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share a little bit about how I go about making my soaps and what I put into them to make them so good to use.

The process I use is called Cold Process soap making as some people use a hot process to make soap but me, I use a cold process.

I did a course before I started as you do really need to understand the science of soap making otherwise it can be a disaster and a waste of a lot of ingredients and money.

My basic go too recipe is: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil ( from a sustainable provider) Canola Oil and Shae Butter, along with Lye which turns all the oils into soap

I also add in Colloidal oats which are very soothing to the skin and then some beautiful essential oils or a fragrance oil depending on what I'm making.

Adding all of these amazing ingredients together is a rewarding experience and watching to see the outcomes the next day is always fun.

Cutting the soap the day after its made is so rewarding and then when I get feedback from my customers telling me how much they love the soaps...well thats just the icing on top.

I will post a video of some of the making process when I make the next batch.

Feel free to comment or ask for more information on the making process.

cheers Jill
